Who is responsible?
Zayd Abbas, a sole trader trading as Focal & Fibre Studio, is responsible for personal information collected for the studio’s services. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@focalandfibre.co.uk.
When you enquire
You can send a project enquiry through the website form, email the studio or book an introductory call. The form collects your name, email, chosen service, project brief and privacy acknowledgement. Website package, budget, timing, location and call preference are optional.
If you email the studio, I receive your email address, name and the information you choose to provide. Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information.
I use these details to respond, discuss your requirements and prepare a proposal if appropriate. Steps towards a contract are taken at your request; other business correspondence is handled on the basis of legitimate interests in responding to and managing enquiries. An enquiry is not a marketing subscription.
Email, hosting and security providers
Business email is handled through Apple’s iCloud Mail. Cloudflare hosts the website and processes technical requests and security information for page delivery, security and service operation. This can include your IP address and browser information. The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check for automated submissions. The server checks the result before sending an enquiry. This processing supports the studio’s legitimate interests in preventing spam and operating a reliable enquiry service.
Validated enquiry details are passed to Resend to deliver a notification to the business mailbox. Your email address is used as Reply-To so I can respond directly. The form only reports success after Resend accepts the notification; this does not guarantee inbox placement.
Providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. Read the privacy information from Cloudflare, Apple, and Resend.
Booking an introductory call
The embedded calendar is the studio’s cal.diy service at bookings.focalandfibre.co.uk. It collects your name, email, phone number, project notes and appointment time to arrange the call. Booking records are stored in that service, and appointments are added to the studio’s connected calendar.
Connected calendar availability is checked to prevent conflicting bookings. Private appointment details are not displayed to visitors. Booking confirmations and changes may be sent by email. You can contact the studio by email if you prefer.
Watching the Longhill film
The film player connects to YouTube only when you choose to play it. YouTube may then process technical information and use cookies or other storage under its own privacy terms. You can open the film on YouTube instead of playing it here.
Storage and retention
The website does not keep a separate database of enquiry submissions. Email correspondence is kept in the business mailbox; booking records are kept in the booking service and connected calendar.
Unconverted enquiries are reviewed and normally removed within 12 months of the last meaningful contact, unless a longer period is needed for an ongoing discussion, dispute or other lawful reason. Client and financial records have separate retention requirements. Resend may retain message content and delivery records under the account’s retention settings. Cloudflare and other providers may retain technical logs for service operation, security and delivery. Enquiry contents are not intentionally written to website application logs.
Cookies, analytics and your choices
The website does not include advertising trackers or optional analytics. Your device’s colour preference controls the theme without storing a separate theme setting. Turnstile performs security checks when the enquiry form loads; no pre-clearance cookie is configured by this site. Booking and embedded third-party content have their own processing described above. The studio does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Providing enquiry details is voluntary. I need a usable contact address and enough information to answer your request; booking a phone call also requires your number and an appointment time.
Your rights
You can ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where applicable. Email the studio to make a request. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
